Inter Unit Netball Championship 2017
Sri Lanka Air Force Academy China Bay won the Inter Unit Netball Championship 2017 beating SLAF Combat Training School Diyathalawa by 20-18 in the finals concluded at HMC Thummulla yesterday (22 August 2017).
LAC Jayasooriya JADAD of SLAF Academy China Bay was adjudged the best Shooter while LAC Poojani AKDD and AC2UT Priyadarshani RPP of SLAF CTS Diyatalawa were selected as Best Centre Court Player and Best Defender respectively.
Lady Officer Cadet Samarakoon SMM of SLAF Academy China Bay was crowned The Netball Queen of the Inter Unit Netball Championship 2017.
The Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Anoma Jayampathy graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and gave away the main awards. Director Air Operations Air Vice Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana, Chairman SLAF Netball Wing Commander Sureka Dias, Officers, Airmen and Air Women representing the Academy, Bases and stations witnessed the event.
