SLAF Wins the Sports Exchange Programme Friendly Kabadi Tournament
The SLAF Men’s Team won the Sports Exchange Programme Friendly Kabadi Tournament which was concluded yesterday at the Air Force Health Management Center in Colombo. The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy graced the event as the Chief Guest.

The PAF Men’s Kabadi Team is currently visiting Sri Lanka as part of the Sports Exchange Programme between the SLAF and the PAF. A total of three matches were played between the SLAF and the visiting PAF teams. The SLAF team was able to win the first friendly encounter which was played at the Air Force Sports Arena at SLAF Base Katunayake 47 to 27. The visiting PAF Team came back strongly during the second friendly encounter which was played at the Gymnasium at Katunayake by winning it 38 to 35. However, the SLAF Team was able to win the tournament by winning the final friendly encounter 30 to 20. In conclusion mementos were exchanged between the Commander of the Air Force and visiting Head of Delegation to mark this memorable visit.

The visiting Kabadi Team consisted of 14 members and the delegation was headed by the Director of Sport in the PAF, Air Commodore Amir Nawaz. This Sports Exchange Programme is the second of its kind between the SLAF and the PAF.

The final encounter was witnessed by a large gathering including the Chief of Staff of the SLAF, Air Vice Marshal Sumangala Dias, Members of the Air Force Board of Management, Defence Advisor to the High Commissioner of Pakistan in Sri Lanka, Colonel Sajjad Ali, many Senior Officers and other rankers of the SLAF as well.
