SLAF Emerge Joint Champions of National Rowing Championship 2019
The 34th National Rowing Championship organized by the Amateur Rowing Association of Sri Lanka was held from 28th February to 2nd March 2019 at Diyawannawa Lake Battaramulla.
Sri Lanka Air Force Rowing Men’s Team emerged as Joint Champions along with the SL Navy Team after 8 years bagging 2 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze medals at the championship. The SL Navy only bagged 2 Gold and 1 Silver medals. A total of 8 rowing teams participated including tri forces teams. A total of 200 rowers participated at the Championship.
The Chairman of Sri Lanka Army Rowing, Major General JSR Kulathunge graced the Championship as the Chief Guest. The Chairman of SLAF Rowing, Air Commodore Palinda Koswatta, Secretory of SLAF Rowing, Group Captain Asitha Hettiarachchi, Officials and members of SLAF Rowing participated for the event.
