Junior Officers Refresher Course at SLAF CTS Diyatalawa
The Closing Address of the Junior Officers Refresher Course 02/2014 was held on 18th July 2014 under the patronage of the acting Commanding Officer of the School Diyatalawa, Wing Commander GPNC Piyasena. The two week course was successfully conducted from 07 to 18 July 2014 under the guidance of the School Commanding Officer Group Captain WWPD Fernando.
The course programme was designed as per the directives given by the Directorate of Training, Air Force Headquarters to ensure proficiency in Drill Theory, Flags and Pennants, Mechanics of Ground Defence, Executive Fitness, Internal Security Operations, Air Intelligence, Land Navigation, general service Knowledge and Range Firing. The Officers were also put through the experience of a map march.
Each of the lectures was followed by a practical exercise to enhance the knowledge and experience. Squadron Leader Mangala Seneviratne coordinated the course as Officer in charge.
