The Flying Instructors’ Workshop 2018 commenced as per the initiative of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy with the guidance of the Director Air Operations, Air Vice Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana.

The event was organized and held at the No 1 Flying Training Wing from 18 to 19 August 2018, where all the Flying Instructors had tasted their first flight. All flying instructors from Fixed and Rotary wing were present for the workshop. The Commander and Director General Civil Aviation Mr. HMC Nimalsiri graced the gathering. Addressing the event, the Commander emphasized the role and responsibilities of Flying Instructors for Vision 2025 and the Director General Civil Aviation enlighten the gathering with an informative lecture on modern trends and developments of Civil Aviation.

During the event, numerous matters pertaining to flying training was clarified and important decisions were made to retain the highest standards in flying training.

An introductory Golf Session was conducted for the Flying Instructors.  The evening was concluded with a social gathering at Marble Beach.

The constructive workshop was concluded on the second day with the lectures delivered by the Flying Instructors on a number of valuable and important topics.
