Air Wing Girls Assessment Camp at SLAF Diyatalawa

The 2nd Air Wing School Girl Cadets Assessment Camp was successfully completed at  Sri Lanka Air Force Station Diyatalawa under the guidance of Commanding Officer Group Captain Janaka Amerasinghe. The Director National Cadet Corps Major General G B W Jayasundara RWP RSP graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

The cadets were assessed on Director’s Examination, Assault Confidence Course, Squad Drill, Billet Inspection, Physical Efficiency Test and Concert. The Drill Display which was performed at the Bentley Ground was a tremendous event that depicted the real talents of the future leaders.

Eight hundred and thirty four cadets passed out from a colorful parade with the intention of giving their maximum contribution for the development of Mother Lanka. Thirty two (32) schools took part in the event from all corners of Sri Lanka irrespective of race and religion.

Major General G B W Jayasundara trophy for the first place was won by Nissanka Maha Vidyalaya from Kurunegala. Second and third places were secured by Dharmapala Maha Vidyalaya from Eheliyagoda and Theldeniya National College from Kandy respectively. 7 AWG 0167 Sergeant Wijewardena WNGSS emerged as the Best Commander who represented Seeduwa Pragngnanda Mahavidyalaya and 8 AWG 0774 Maduwanthi NKK was promoted to the Corporal rank for her outstanding performance.    The main significant of the occasion was that the schools from remote areas have performed tremendously.
