SLAF Academy China Bay, held its 1st ever Academy Real Star singing competition coinciding with a ‘Tombola Nite’ organized by the Combat Training School(CTS) on 15 June 2012. Only 6 competent singers were selected out of a large number of enthusiastic competitors to perform on the stage at the ‘Tombola Nite’. Preliminary rounds were held at the SLAF Academy Military Band section and the “Real Star” was selected based on votes received from the audience.

The organization of this evening of entertainment was tasked to the CTS which is commanded by Wg Cdr PSN Fernando. The prizes for the winners of the lottery included a 24’ LED television, a Singer washing machine, a Mountain bike and 7 mobile phones.

The Commandant of SLAF Academy China Bay Air Commodore SK Pathirana and Mrs.Chamini Pathirana attended the function as the chief guests and gave away the prizes at the conclusion of the event.
