The Directorate of Inspections & Safety at Air Force Base Katunayake organized a Flight Safety Poster Competition among the SLAF personnel, with the main objective of promoting and inculcating a sound safety culture in the SLAF working environs.

The winners of this competition received cash prizes from the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal HD Abeywickrama, at a brief ceremony held at the Air Force Headquarters yesterday (19th June 2012), at 0900 hrs. Base Commander of SLAF Base Katunayaka and Command Flight Safety Officer (CFSO), Air Commodore DLS Diaz, too was present at the ceremony.




The winners were:

1st Prize - (Rs. 10,000/=)
Leading Aircraftmen Fernando PHKRI  - SLAF Station Ampara

2nd Prize - (Rs. 7,500/=)
Squadron Leader Gunasekara RMKTK - No.2 Squadron, SLAF Base Katunayaka

3rd Prize - (Rs. 5,000/=)
Corporal  Thilaka RGA - ADC & CC, SLAF Base Katunayaka
