On the direction of Chairperson SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit Mrs. Neelika Abeywickrama and under the guidance of Mrs. Mali Wasage the President Seva Vanitha Unit SLAF Weerawila, a one day workshop on Saree Designing & Fabric Painting was held on 2 July 2012 at Weerawila.

The Programme was conducted by Mrs. Jayanthi Gamage, a renowned Specialist in Saree Designing & Fabric Painting, who is also a famous TV presenter in the same field. The workshop includes Foiling, Paper napkin heat & bond, Network, Cut work, Cord work, Glitter work, Dust work, Sequin work and Fabric Painting.

The family members of service personnel and airwomen were participated for this event and it was benefited for most of the ladies to start Self employment in this field. The Commanding Officer Group Captain Dilshan Wasage & Officers of the Unit were participated for the initiation of the event.
