Sri Lanka Air Force Base Vavuniya celebrated its 34th Anniversary on 27th October 2012. A shramadhana campaign was carried out to clean the Vavuniya  Railway Station with the participation of all ranks and civil staff of the Base on 26th Oct 2012.

A parade was also held at the Base and it was reviewed by the Base Commander Air Commodore NHV Gunaratne on 27th Oct 2012. This was followed by a cricket tournament and all ranks lunch.
