The Sri Lanka Air Force women’s volleyball team has been selected to represent the country at the Lien Viet Post Bank Cup International Volleyball Championship which is being held in Vietnam from 19 to 27 May 2013. The Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) is organizing the event along with the Volleyball Federation of Vietnam.

Eight teams representing China, New Zealand, Thailand, Sri Lanka and Vietnam are scheduled to participate at this event in Bac Ninh province in Vietnam. The Sri Lanka Air Force women’s volleyball team is the current national champion and is enjoying a highly successful season, having remained unbeaten throughout the last two years. Lac Dinesha Prasadini the national skipper leads the SLAF team which comprises several national players. Sergeant Nalin Sampath Abeysinghe a former national player and SLAF captain is the Head Coach of the team and he is assisted by Sergeant Upul De Silva.
