The ‘PACIFIC ANGEL’ a joint Medical and Renovation campaign which conducted from 5th August to 11th August 2013 in the Jaffna Peninsula concluded today at Saivapragasa Vidyalayam in Atchelu Village in a brief ceremony.  The Introductory and welcome speech conducted by Flying Officer BADHB Kithsiri followed by the traditional lighting of the oil lamp started the proceedings of the ceremony. The Sri Lanka Air Force Dancing Group performed a Baratha Natyam and Kandyan dancing item during the ceremony.

The key note address was delivered by the Mission Commander of the exercise Pacific Angel Lieutenant Colonel Douglus Woodard. Representing the honourable Governor of the Northern Province, Mr Ilangovan the secretary of the Governor delivered the Governor’s message. Subsequently, the handing over of essential civil engineering equipment to schools viz. Kuddiyapulam Mixed School, Punnalaikkadduvan primary School and Atchelu Saivapragasa Vidyalam and also the handing over of medical items to the Regional Director Health Service (RDHS) office by the US Defence Attaché Lieutenant Colonel Patrick J Schuler took place.

The Closing address was made by the Overall Exercise Commander Group Captain AJ Amarasinghe, the Commanding Officer SLAF Station Palaly who ended with a vote of thanks to all the participating delegates of Pacific Angel 2013.

The two co-host Air Forces, represented by Air Vice Marshal GP Bulathsinghala Director Operations for Sri Lanka Air Force and Lieutenant Colonel Patrick J Schuler the US Defence Attaché for the United States Pacific Air Forces. Northern Naval Commander Rear Admiral DMS Dissanayake, Brigadier S Athapaththu representing Security Forces Commander of Jaffna, Regional Director Health Service Jaffna Mr A Ketheeswaran also participated in the ceremony.
