Minister of Foreign Affairs of The Czech Republic calls on The Commander Of The Air Force

A Delegation from the Czech Republic headed by Hon Jan Kohout, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, called on the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama, this evening (6th November 2013) at Air Force Headquarters Colombo.

The Czech Foreign Minister presented two sculptures of eagles to the Commander of the Air Force as a token of appreciation of the SLAF’s role in transporting two baby elephants to the Prague Zoo which was a gift from the Government of Sri Lanka. These two sculptures of eagles are made out of Bohemian Crystal which is a proud heritage of the Czech Republic and its people. The Commander had a discussion with the delegation on matters of mutual interest and shared views on opportunities and possibilities available for similar collaboration in the years to come.

The delegation which comprised of Hon. Jiri Balvin Minister of Culture, Hon. Tomas Tesar Deputy Minister of Environment, His Excellency. Miroslav Stasek Ambassador of the Czech Republic, Government officials and fifteen members of a high level business delegation arrived to Sri Lanka early morning on 6th November 2013 and will depart early morning on 7th November 2013.
 
The Commander of the Air Force also presented a memento and gifts to Hon. Jan Kohout to mark this memorable occasion.

The SLAF transported two baby elephants to Prague in October 2012 and in return also brought two Komodo Dragons, two Przewalski's Horses and two hippopotamuses from the Prague zoo to the Dehiwela Zoo.
