Community Service Conducted By SLAF Station Ampara

SLAF Station Ampara conducted community service to two rural schools in the Ampara area in collaboration with MAST Global Lanka Pvt Ltd recently.
 
More than 316 children of Ampara Karangawa Janaraja Vidyalaya and Ampara Udayagiri Vidyalaya coming from a poor economic background were selected for this charity programme of donating school items worth of approximately 1.4 million, coinciding with the 24th Anniversary celebrations of SLAF Station Ampara.
 
During the programme gift packs amounting to over Rs.4500.00, each consisting a school bag, school books, pair of shoes, uniform material and other stationery required for 2014 were distributed among all children of the two schools. The intention of this initiative was to encourage the children of underprivileged schools to perform well in their studies and to provide some relief to their parents undergoing financial constraints to educate the children.

The thoughtful gestures of love and care did not end there, as a gift for each teacher of the two schools were also presented as a token of appreciation for dedicated service provided to uplift education in the local area. The ceremony also included a graceful performance by the children.
