Men’s Football team of the Sri Lanka Air Force emerged Champions at the Dialog Premier Soccer Championship 2013 on 22nd December 2013 Defeating Renown Team by 1-0 at the finals.

In honour of this achievement, the Team and the Coach of the SLAF Men’s Football team were felicitated by the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama, in a simple ceremony held at the AFHQ Auditorium this morning(09th January 2014). Chairman of the Air Force Football, Air Commodore Andrew Wijesuriya, Secretary Air Force Football, Group Captain Saman Kotage and Secretary Air Force Sports Council, Group Captain Roshan Biyanwila, and Assistant Secretary  Air Force Sports Council Wing Commander Gayagith Dasanayeka also attended the ceremony.

This is the first occasion that the SLAF has won the football crown since the SLAF won the Ceylon FA Cup in 1985/86 by defeating Renown SC and in 1989 the SLAF won the Golden Jubilee Cup organized by the Football Federation of Sri Lanka to mark its 50th Anniversary.
