CDS Invited as Chief Guest at the Young Entrepreneurs AGM

The annual general meeting of the members of the Chamber Of Young Lanka Entrepreneurs (COYLE) was held last evening (17 December 2009) at the Hotel Galadari in which the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Roshan Goonetileka was invited as the chief guest whilst Mr Lalith Weeratunga, secretary to the his Excellency, the President attended as the guest of honor.

Following the AGM the members of COYLE jointly made a official presentation of funds to Mrs Ayoma Rajapaksha Chairperson of Seva Vanitha Unit of the Ministry of Defence which will utilized for the educational needs of the children of war heroes who scarified their lives for liberating the country from the terrorist war prolonged in the country well over 30 years.

Making the key note address Air Chief Marshal Roshan Goonatileke appreciated the initiative taken by the members of COYLE to support security force personnel during the past and requested to extend their morale and material support and encouragement in the future as well. He further went on to explain the sacrifices and hardships that the security forces underwent to liberate the country from terrorism and praised the political leadership given by the His Excellency the President Mahinada Rajapaksa, and the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence despite much local as well as international pressure.
