SLAF Celebrates Ramadan Ifthar at Eagles' Lakeside

The Ramadan Ifthar Programme to mark the breaking of fast at the mid fasting season was held at the Eagles' Lakeside Banquet and Convention Hall, Attidiya today (27 June 2016).

The Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Gagan Bulathsinghala graced this special religious activity celebrating the holy month of Ramadan and to enhance the religious solidarity among the members of the Air Force.

Ifthar or Iftharee, refers to the evening meal for breaking the daily fast during the Islamic month of Ramadan or a meal served at the end of the fasting day during Ramadan, to break the day's fast. Literally, "breakfast." Ifthar during Ramadan is often done as a community, with Muslims gathering to break their fast together.

The officiating Moulavi blessed and prayed to all mighty Allah on behalf of the souls of all brave men and woman of the Sri Lanka Air force, who made the supreme sacrifice, in defence of our motherland.

The event was successfully held under the supervision of Director Welfare of SLAF Air Vice Marshal Rohintha Fernando and Group Captain Ayub Jabir .
