SLAF Wins National Productivity Gold Award for the Year 2015

Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) has been adjudged the Gold Award Winners in the National Productivity Awards 2015 under the Public Sector – Inter Departments category.

The ‘National Productivity Awards 2015’ is organized by the National Productivity Secretariat (NPS) established under the Ministry of Public Administration and Management.  This annual competition appraises institutes which had become successful by incorporating productivity concepts and best practices throughout the previous calendar year.
   
In this competition, the ‘Gold Award’ is awarded to organizations that have won the ‘Productivity Award’ in a particular category previously and who have been able to sustain their best practices continuously by scoring over the 90th percentile during a fresh assessment of the organization.

The SLAF, having won the first place in the National Productivity Award in 2014, applied for this year’s competition in March 2016, once again as one entity.  This year the following sections covering the major operational activities of the SLAF were assessed by a five member independent team nominated by the NPS, for the implementation of the productivity concepts under the main headings of Leadership, Employees, Process Improvements, Customer Satisfaction and Results.
