SLAF Inventors Excel

Four research projects completed by the SLAF during the ‘Sahasak Nimavum’ competition organized by the Sri Lanka Inventors Commission have secured two Gold and two Bronze medals in the Engineering category, at the National Inventors’ Day, held at the Nelum Pokuna Theatre on 26 Oct 16, presided over by HE the President, Maithirpala Sirisena.

The projects that earned awards for the SLAF are as follows:

a.    Variable Low Voltage, Low Power Consuming, Runway Taxiway and Apron Light Distribution System by M&EEW SLAF Kat (Gold Medal).

b.    Fabrication of Drop Tank Pylon Tester for F-7 aircarft by No.05 Sqn SLAF Kat (Gold medal).

c.    Development of Tacho Generator and Indicator tester by No.10 Sqn SLAF Kat (Bronze Medal).

d.    Design and development of a Radar Information integration system by ITU at AFHQ (Bronze Medal).
   
The competition featured 287 projects and the fact that the SLAF was able to secure two gold and two Bronze medals speaks highly of the capability of the inventors of the SLAF.
