Air Force Delivers Urgently Needed Medicine
5:16pm on Thursday 13th May 2010
The first C-130 aircraft carrying urgently needed saline landed at the Ratmalana Air Force Base at 4.30pm today (13th may). 18 tons of saline was flown nearly 900 nautical miles from Mumbai, India to Sri Lanka in this flight.  The saline will be handed over to the Ministry of Health and Nutrition.
 
The Sri Lanka Air Force had been called upon by the Government to assist in air lifting medical supplies which were in shortage. Several flights will be made to India by the Air Force to deliver the required quantity of medicine.
 
The Sri Lanka Air Force stands ready to assist the Government and the people of Sri Lanka at their time of need.
