SLAF Station Colombo and SLAF Base Katunayake emerged men's & women's Champions in the Inter Unit Handball Championship 2017 held on 14 July 2017 at SLAF Health Management Centre (HMC) Thummulla.

SLAF Station Morawewa and SLAF TTS Ekala became men's and women's runner up at the championship.

Director Civil Engineering of SLAF Air Commodore MRK Samarasinghe graced the awarding ceremony as the chief guest. Chairman SLAF Handball Group Captain DRAB Warakanga, Officers and Other Ranks of the SLAF were also present at the occasion.
