Passing Out Parade at SLAF Ampara

The passing out parade of the 34th and 35th Basic Airborne Courses, and the No 4 Special Airborne Force (SABF) Course  was held at  Sri Lanka Air Force Station Ampara today (19 October 2017).

The Commander of Sri Lanka Air Force, Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while members of the Air Force Board of Management, Senior Officers of the Three Services, were also among the distinguished guests. Commanding Officer of Sri Lanka Air Force Station Ampara Group Captain HWR Chandima, Commanding Officer of Parachute training school Squadron Leader CS Priyasundara, joined the proud parents of the trainees to witness the function.

A total of 77 Paratroopers (including Army, Navy, STF ) and 47 SABF personnel pinned on their wings at the ceremony.

The Sky divers of the SLAF performed a magnificent show, exiting at 7000 feet from the   Helicopter.
 
The Chief Guest pinned on the Paratrooper Wings of the trainees who had successfully completed the course. 29149 Corporal Nishantha KG  and 31626 Corporal Abeykoon PAKD of the SLAF were adjudged the best Para troopers of No 34th and 35th Basic Airborne Courses respectively.

Concurrent to the Passing out parade, the commander of the Air Force declared open the newly constructed Parade Square, Parachute Trainee's Billet and Station Warrant Officer's (SWO) Quarter at  the SLAF Station Ampara.
