65th Formation Day Celebration of SLAF CTS Diyatalawa

Sri Lanka Air Force Combat Training School Diyatalawa proudly celebrated its 65th Formation Day under the auspices of the School Commanding Officer Air Commodore WWPD Fernando on 19th October 2017.

The Commanding Officer stressed the value of the Formation Day Celebrations in bringing to mind the importance and historical value of CTS Diyatalawa to the Air Force and to the nation as well.

CTS Diyatalawa was established on 15th October in 1952 as Royal Ceylon Air Force Station Stable Hill Camp, Diyatalawa under the leadership of Flt Lt JVP Howard, RAF, and present CO Air Commodore WWPD Fernando Commands the School as its 33rd Commanding Officer.

The School, as the prime training establishment of the Sri Lanka Air Force, has made nad immense contribution towards the Motherland, producing Officers and Airmen in order to establish country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity under the proud motto “Training through Battle Discipline”.

Numerous sports and entertainment programmes were carried out in order to develop camaraderie among all ranks and civil staff of the School.
