Delegation from United Nation Budget Controller’s Office visits SL Aviation Unit in South Sudan

Sri Lanka Aviation Unit in South Sudan (UNMISS) was visited by a delegation of United Nations yesterday (4 August 2018).The delegation included the Director of the United Nation Budget Controller’s Office in New York, Ms. Maria Costa along with Director Mission Support, Ms. Stephani Scheer, Chief of Supply Chain Management, Chief of Mission Support Center, Chief of Budget and Finance, Chief of Engineering, Chief of Medical Officer, Head of Field Office and the Field Administrations Officer.

The Contingent Commander, Squadron Leader Damith Samaraweera welcomed the delegation. There was a brief presentation at the Officers’ Mess about the role of Sri Lanka Aviation Unit and a friendly discussion was held on the matters of mutual interest.

The delegation joined the customary lunch hosted at the Officers’ Mess and afterwards exchange of mementos and the signing of the visitor’s book were done at the Contingent Commanders’ Office to signify the visit. Final event was the group photograph of contingent members and visitors. At the end of the program Director Mission Support (DMS) Ms. Stephani Scheer expressed her gratitude to all contingent members for the event organized and for the devotion and professionalism shown in UNMISS. It was the last visit of the present DMS’s to Sri Lanka Aviation Unit due to her retirement at the end of December.
