No 59 Junior Command and Staff Course Graduate from China Bay

The Graduation Ceremony of the No 59 Junior Command and Staff Course was held at the Astra Hall at Sri Lanka Air Force Academy China Bay today (15th of March 2019).

Air Vice Marshal KAL Ranathunga, the Director Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest. Bangladesh Defence Attaché and delegates from the SL Army and Navy also witnessed the event as Distinguished Guests.

The ceremony marked the end of a 14-week long course attended by a total of 30 Officers, made up of 22 officers from the Sri Lanka Air Force in the ranks of Squadron Leader and Flight Lieutenant, 2 officers from the Sri Lanka Army in the rank of Captain, 2 officers from the Sri Lanka Navy in the rank of Lieutenant and one officer each from friendly foreign nation Air Forces, Bangladesh , China, India and Pakistan.

The Junior Command and Staff College is accredited to the University of Kelaniya and the Officers who fulfill the required criteria will be conferred with a Post Graduate Diploma in Defence Management.

A Guest Night was also held at the Officers Mess to mark the Graduation with the participation Faculty Members of the Junior Command and Staff College, Graduates and their ladies.
