Graduation Ceremony of No 61 Junior Command and Staff Course

The Graduation Ceremony of No 61 Junior Command and Staff Course was held today (5 September 2019) at the Astra Hall at Sri Lanka Air Force Academy China Bay.

Air Vice Marshal MDAP Payoe, the Director Training graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest. United States Deputy Defence Attaché and delegates from the Sri Lanka Navy and Police participated for the event as distinguished Guests.

The ceremony marked the end of the 11-week course attended by a total of 27 Officers, 22 Officers from the Sri Lanka Air Force in the ranks of Squadron Leader and Flight Lieutenant, 2 Officers from the Sri Lanka Navy in the rank of Lieutenant and one Officer each from friendly foreign Air Forces,  Bangladesh , India and the US.

The JC&SC is accredited to the University of Kelaniya and the Officers who fulfill the required criteria will be offered with a Post Graduate Diploma in Defence Management.

A Guest Night was also held at the Officers’ Mess to mark the Graduation with the participation Faculty Members of the Junior Command and Staff College, graduates and their wives.

Excellence in Air Power Studies
Flight Lieutenant BLRS Balasuriya (Admin Regiment)

Best Book Review
Flight Lieutenant MRS DE Silva (General Duties Pilot)

Captain Elizabeth K Simkus (US Air Force)

Best Sportsman
