Commander Declares Open New Constructions at SLAF Stations Ampara and Batticaloa

Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force Air Marshal Sumangala Dais declared open newly constructed buildings at SLAF Station Ampara and SLAF Station Batticaloa on 20 February 2020. Projects were designed and constructed by the Civil Engineering Wing at SLAF Base Katunayake and the Airfield Construction Wing at Ratmalana under the supervision of the Directorate of Civil Engineering.

The newly constructed building opened at SLAF Station Ampara included a new Administrative Block for the No.39 Regiment Wing, a new Works Section and a new Two Storied Officers’ Living In Block. Director Ground Operations, Director Civil Engineering, Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Ampara Group Captain Suresh Fernando, Officers and other ranks were present at the ceremony.

Further, the Commander declared open a newly constructed Officers’ Living In Block at SLAF Station Batticaloa. Director Ground Operations, Director Civil Engineering, the Commanding Officer Group Captain Nilantha Piyasena, Officers and other ranks were also present for the ceremony.
