Personal Protection Equipment Kits Manufactured by SLAF Donated to Wathupitiwala Base Hospital

230 Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) Kits were donated to the Wathupitiwala Base Hospital today (25 April 2020) at SLAF Base Katunayake. These PPE Kits were manufactured at the No 1 Supply and Maintenance Deport at Katunayake. The manufacturing of the PPE Kits were funded by the 1979 Batch of Gamapaha Gothami Kanishta Vidyalaya Old Boys Association.

The manufactured PPE Kits were handed over by the Air Secretary, Air Commodore Ranjith Senanayake, together with the President of the 1979 Batch of Gamapaha Gothami Kanishta Vidyalaya Old Boys Association, Mr Upul Nishantha and the Treasurer, Mr Lakkana Edirisinghe.

Representatives from the Wathupitiwala Base Hospital accepted the PPE Kits while the Commanding Officer of the No 1 Supply and Maintenance Deport at Katunayake, Group Captain Sanath Kalubowila also attended for the handing over.

These PPE Kits will be vital for the safety of medical staff members at the Wathupitiwala Base Hospital during the COVID-19 outbreak.
