1st Advance Unarmed Combat Course for SABF Personnel Concludes at Ampara

The inaugural Advance Unarmed Combat Course for SABF personnel commenced on 15 June 2020 at the SLAF Regimental Training Center Ampara under the guidance and supervision of Commanding Officer the SLAF Special Airborne Force Wing, Squadron Leader Bhanuka Bandara.

The main focus of this training was to qualified SABF personnel in Advance Unarmed Combat Techniques and improve their confidence while performing VIP/VVIP security duties. During the training period all trainees learnt advanced fighting skills and under went thorough fighting in mud, water, moving vehicles and have also qualified in advanced techniques on weapon disarming.

A total of 19 trainees including an Officer were selected to undergo this 14 working day training at the SLAF Regimental Training Center Ampara. At the end of the course trainees took part in a sparring competition in order to test their skills.

The champion of the competition was Leading Aircraftman Premasiri. The trophies for Champion and Runner Up were awarded by Wing Commander Nirosh Senadheera, the Acting Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Ampara during the Closing Address which was held today (1 July 2020).
