Scientific Sessions and Work Shop for Dental Assistants of Armed Forces

Directorate of Dental Services of Sri Lanka Air Force made a land mark in the History of Dentistry in Sri Lanka by arranging and conducting a scientific sessions and work shop for Dental Assistants from 15 to 17 Sep 2010 at SLAF Base Anuradhapura.

It is the first time Continuous Professional Development Program of this nature was organized in Sri Lanka. The Program was organized and conducted under the guidance of Director Dental Services Air Vice Marshal AMB Amunugama and 18 Dental assistants from Sri Lanka Armed Forces.

Sessions were inaugurated by Air Vice Marshal AMB Amunugama followed by the lecture given by Commodore Douglas Perera Director Naval Dental Services. Other lecturers were experienced Dental Surgeons and Senior Assistants from Sri Lanka Air Force. Subjects and work shops that were discussed gave modern updated knowledge and the participation role of Dental Assistants on various specialties of ever changing dentistry to the participants.
