Air Commodore L C Dissanayake RWP and Bar, RSP and Bar, MSc (MOA), MSc (Strat Stu), BSc (Def Stu), Pg Dip (Def Mgt), fawc, psc took over duties as the Base Commander of SLAF Base Anuradhapura and the Acting Northern Air Commander today (21 January 2021).

Air Commodore Dissanayake previously held the appointment of Base Commander, SLAF Base Ratmalana. The Change of Command Parade was held today where the Outgoing Base Commander, Air Commodore L H Sumanaweera RWP, RSP and Bar, USP, MSc (Strat Stu), MDS, fawc, psc handed over command to the new Base Commander, Air Commodore L C Dissanayake.

The outgoing Base Commander, Air Commodore Sumanaweera took over command of SLAF Base Anuradhapura in February 2020. The Handing Over/Taking Over Parade took place at the at the Base Parade Square and was commanded by Group Captain Nalaka Sapugastenna. The Outgoing Base Commander also planted a tree sapling after the parade.
