SLAF RECEIVES GENEROUS DONATION FROM MINISTRY OF HEALTH

With the recent rapid increase in COVID-19 patients, personnel of the Sri Lanka Air Force are also actively participating with health sector personnel to reduce the spread. As a result, frontline SLAF personnel are exposed to the deadly virus very frequently. In a bid to strengthen SLAF troops facing this invisible enemy, the Ministry of Health donated vital health equipment to the Air Force today (09 June 2021).

These equipment, made up of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Pulse Oximeters and Oxygen Concentrators were handed over to the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana at Air Force Headquarters by Hon. (Professor) Channa Jayasumana, the State Minister of Production, Supply and Regulation of Pharmaceuticals. Chief of Staff and the members of Air Force Board of Management attended for this event in accordance with the COVID-19 health guide lines.

Following the official handing over, the State Minister was conducted by the Commander to his Office where they held a cordial discussion on matters related to the COVID-19 situation. The visiting State Minister was also presented with a special memento by the Commander in appreciation of todays donation. The State Minister also placed a note in the Visitors Book before departing Air Force Headquarters.
