PARACHUTE TRAINING SCHOOL AT AMPARA CONDUCTS BADGE AWARDING CEREMONY

The Badge Awarding Ceremony of the No.45 Basic Airborne Course was held at the Drop Zone of Sri Lanka Air Force Station Ampara on 25 June 2021. The Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Ampara, Air Commodore GGWTK Gunawardana graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The Commanding Officer of Parachute Training School, Wing Commander RMSN Ritigala, all Officers and Instructors were also present to witness the occasion.

A total of 39 basic paratroopers including 02 SLAF Officers, 27 Airmen, 03 SL Army Soldiers, 04 SL Navy Sailors, a STF Officer and 02 STF men received their insignias to mark the successful completion of Basic Airborne Training. In addition, a SLAF Officer along with 03 airmen received their Military Free Faller Insignias and an airman received his insignia to mark the successful completion of Jumpmaster and airborne operations training.
    
Leading Aircraftman Dilshan DMC was adjudged as the Best Paratrooper of No.45 Basic Airborne Course.

The Commanding Officer addressed the qualified service personnel and congratulated them on the successful completion of the course and extended best wishes for their service lives. Air Force skydiving team led by Group Captain JC Godakanda added colour to the occasion with a colourful parachute jumping display.
