Sri Lanka Air Force cyclists brought honour to the organization when they won both categories in the "Neth FM Samastha Lanka Papedi Sawariya" which took place recently.

The cycling competition was worked off on 8 January, 2011 with the participation of over hundred cyclists. The route which extended from Kurunegala to Anamaduwa & back to Kurunegala covered a total distance of 122 kilometers.  The race was flagged off at the starting point by Mayor of Kurunegala Nimal chandrasiri de Silva.

Group ‘A’ race was contested by the top 30 cyclists in the island, out of which 7 were from SLAF. The winning place was clinched by SLAF when Sujith Silva being the first to pedal past the finishing line. Two other Air Force cyclists were also placed in the 9th and 11th place.

15 cyclists form SLAF competed in the Group ‘B’ Race which had a total of 96 participants. Air Force clinched both top wins in this race with Nalaka Abeysinghe and Samantha Lakmal coming first and second respectively.
