No 38 Gunner Instructors Course Complete Their Training

Eighty one Air Force personnel inclusive of Junior and Senior Non Commissioned Officers obtained their badges as Gunner Instructors on 3rdAgust 2011 at the Sri Lanka Air Force Station Diyatalawa, after following a successful training program in various fields for a period of five months.

The Chief Guest of the passing out parade Group Captain Janaka Amarasinghe the Commanding Officer of Sri Lanka Air Force Diyatalawa gave away the Canes, Lanyards and the trophies for the prize winners.

The training program which started on the 21st of March 2011 lasted a period of nearly five months with training being conducted in various locations such as Pattipola, Loggal Oya, and SLAF Ampara. The airmen were trained to become Instructors under the direct supervision of Squadron Leader Aruna Perera who is the Weapon Training Officer of the Training Wing of SLAF Diyatalawa and the Instructor trainees were educated on various subjects including Discipline, Weapons, Foot drill and other relevant fields.

The following personnel who performed the best during the training were awarded with trophies as stated below.

Best Gunner Instructor      - 24707 Corporal Frank KAADD
Best Physical Fitness         - 24513 Corporal Dharmadasa RBK
Best Drill                          - 24448 Corporal Bandara DMRD
Best Shot                         - 21923 Corporal Mudhitha Kumara GAS
 
After the Passing out Parade, the new Instructors performed a very beautiful Drill display at the “Bently Ground” where all the spectators witnessed the perfect training discipline and quality that they had acquired.

The new Instructors will be proceeding very soon to various SLAF establishments to take over their new responsibilities and to go onto guide Air Force personnel to become even better airmen.
