The passing out ceremony of the 47th Non Commissioned Officers Management Course was held at the NCOs’ Management School auditorium at Sri Lanka Air Force Academy China Bay on 5th September 2011.   

The school which is accredited to the University of Rajarata successfully completed a comprehensive course for a batch comprising 56 Senior Non Commissioned Officers, 33 Junior Non Commissioned Officers and 2 Petty Officers of the Sri Lanka Navy.

Air Commodore MLK Perera, the Deputy Director Ground Operations graced the ceremony as the chief guest.

The prime intention in conducting this course is to foster a sound academic and management knowledge while sharpening leadership qualities within the Non Commissioned Officers of the SLAF. The course runs through a well formed syllabus within the period of 11 weeks.

The Commanding Officer of the NCOs’ Management School, Wing Commander T.V.D Deshapriya, the academic staff of the school Squadron Leader P.S Jayawickrama  (Chief Instructor), Squadron Leader A.S Welisara (Senior Instructor), Squadron Leader R.S.A.N.E Rajapaksha (DS Administration), Squadron Leader J.B Pussadeniya (English Language Instructor) and Pilot Officer ALMA Liyanarachchi ( Training Coordinator)  were present at the ceremony.

The Coordinator of Special Agro Projects, Air Commodore A.P.S Narasinghe, the Senior Instructor of the Junior Command & Staff College Wing Commander DHS Amarasinghe and the Commanding Officer of the No.01 Flying Training Wing, Squadron Leader M.N De Alwis were the other distinguished guests who witnessed the ceremony.  

Flight Sergeant Premasiri LT (Clerk General Duties) was placed as the best all-round Senior Non Commissioned Officer while Corporal Bandara HMSKH (Medical Laboratory Technician) was placed as the best all-round Junior Non Commissioned Officer.
