Sri Lanka Air Force female athlete Nimali WKLR won a Gold medal for 1500m at the Malaysian Open Grand Prix 2011 at the National Training Track, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lampur.

Strong athletes from countries such as Chinese Taipei, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand and host Malaysia participated in this event.

Airwoman Nimali finished the event from 4:22:33 minutes almost touching the National record of 4:22:04 minutes.
