SLAF Vavuniya looks after people of Nadunkulam

Sri Lanka Air Force Base Vavuniya organized a fully-fledged health program at Nadunkulam Primary School, Vavuniya on 7th Oct 2011 with the intention of commemorating National Health Week.

The program consisted of a medical clinic, a dental clinic, a medical and dental awareness program, a Shramadana campaign and the spraying of insecticide over probable mosquito breeding places.

Medical treatment was given for approximately 200 villagers of Nadunkulam which is a remote village in the Madukanda area and a mobile dental screening program was conducted for all students of Nadunkulam Primary School. This was followed by an awareness program on personnel hygiene and oral health. Further, a Shramadana was held to clean the school premises to ensure the surroundings were more hygienic and conducive for school children and staff and to ensure it to be free from mosquito breeding places.  

The medical and dental Clinics were conducted by Flying Officer HP Galkolage and Flight Lieutenant EM Riswan respectively and this special program was conducted under the guidance of Base Commander of SLAF Base Vavuniya, Air Commodore KFR Fernando.
