Children’s Party And Base Get Together Of SLAF Base Katunayake- 2011

The children’s party and the Base get-together of SLAF Base Katunayake for year 2011 were held on 17th December 2011 under the patronage of Base Commander, SLAF Base Katunayake, Air Commodore CR Gurusinghe.
The children’s party was conducted from 1400 hrs to 1800 hrs with numerous kids’ entertainment items. Giant wheel, Merry-go-round, Kiddies train and the Bouncer were full of children throughout the event. A stage built in the shape of a castle made the location attractive to everyone who had gathered for the event. Several organized games were conducted for children while dancing and fancy dress competitions became extremely competitive events. Attractive prizes were given away to the winners and all children participated in each and every game whilst the air dog show and dancing items of a few kids added glamour to the event.
The Base get-together commenced at 1900 hrs with an eye catching fireworks display which saw light scattered all over the sky with the arrival of Base Commander SLAF Base Katunayake. A magician conducted a wondrous magic show at the outset of the function. The Air Force Eagle’s band performed while the Air Force cultural team displayed attractive dancing items at the function. Two dancing competitions and three games had been arranged for participants, which added an extra joy to the gathering. The get-together was very eventful and was run until 2300 hrs at which time the people went home with delightful memories.
