The Material Engineering Laboratory is a research and teaching institute equipped to conduct standard tests for all highway construction, maintenance, design and paving materials in Sri Lanka, as well as research oriented experiments for assessing the engineering properties and behaviors of paving materials. It is also well equipped to support research activities in the area of nondestructive field evaluation of in-service road and airport pavements.
