The Annual New Year Festival of the Pre-school at SLAF Base Vavuniya was held on 01 April 2013 at their kindergarten premises. The Base Commander Air Cdre PDKT Jayasinghe graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

Fifty one enthusiastic children of the Nursery took the floor with confidence through a variety of events which included dances and songs that made the event unforgettable. Traditional customs such as lightening the oil lamp, introducing traditional dresses, worshipping elders and traditional games were part of the festival. The games organized for the parents added colour to the event. The celebration gave the kids a glimpse of the traditional customs and the opportunity to witness same. The nursery staff, teachers and the parents worked tirelessly to make the event a success.
