The Graduation Ceremony of the Defence Services Command and Staff College Course No 7 was held this morning (13th December 2013) at the Main Auditorium of DSCSC. The Seventh Course commenced on 3rd January 2013 and concluded on 13th of December 2013. A total of 102 Officers graduated on this occasion inclusive of 58 Officers from the Army, 14 Officers from the Navy, 17 Officers from the Air Force and 13 Foreign Officers from India, Pakistan, Maldives, Nepal, Bangladesh, Rwanda, Sudan, Senegal, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Wing Commander Munim Khan Majlish from the Bangladesh Air Force received the “Golden Owl Award” for the Most Outstanding foreign student of Air Wing whilst Squadron Leader GGSR Gunawardana of the Operations/Air Branch received the “Golden Owl Award” for the Most Outstanding Sri Lankan Student of the Air Wing.

Hon Secretary to the Treasury, Ministry of Finance and Planning and Ministry of Economic Development Dr PB Jayasundera graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The Secretary of the Ministry of Defence & Urban Development Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Chief of Defence Staff General Jagath Jayasuriya, Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Daya Rathnayake, Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Jayanath Colombage,  Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama and many other distinguish guests were also attended the Ceremony.
