Colombo and Ekala, Men’s and Women’s Inter Unit Boxing Champions 2019
Sri Lanka Air Force Station Colombo won the Men's Championship while Sri Lanka Air Force Trade Training School Ekala won the Women's Championship at the Inter Unit Boxing Championship 2019 which concluded yesterday (14 March 2019) at the Indoor Stadium of Sri Lanka Air Force Base Katunayake.
Trade Training School Ekala and Station Colombo switched places to secure the runner up positions in the Men's and Women's categories respectively.
Leading Aircraftsmen Perera WATM from Colombo and Aircraftswoman Sewwandi WBR of the Trade Training School Ekala were adjudged as the Best Boxers in the Men's and Women's Categories respectively.
Director Ground Operations of SLAF, Air Vice Marshal KFR Fernando graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Chairman SLAF Boxing, Air Commodore KKAK Kaluarachchi, Base Commander SLAF Base Katunayaka, Air Vice Marshal MDAP Payoe, officers and other ranks were also present at the event.
