Vacancy for the Forman (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical) [2025 Vacancies] - (Male)

Airmen and Airwomen can choose from a wide range of support roles to specialized technical roles. Airmen and Airwomen make up the majority of personnel in the Sri Lanka Air Force, bringing in their specialist skills to provide vital support roles such as Engineering and Technical, Force Protection, Logistics, Personnel Administration, Medical Support and Intelligence.

The recruitment of Airmen or Airwomen as Recruits or Direct Entry in the Regular or Volunteer Force will be conducted twice a year unless otherwise decided by the Commander of the Air Force. The Command Recruiting Officer will ascertain the number of vacancies available in respective Trades which require to be fulfilled.

Civil Status Candidates must be Unmarried
(Not be consider for Direct Entry Candidates)

Age as at 01 st June 2025 - 02nd Batch

Direct Entry(Regular/Volunteer)
Male - Not less than 18 years and not more than 28 years.
Male - Not less than 18 years and not more than 30 years.(For Motor Transport Machanic - Volunteer)
Female - Not less than 18 years and not more than 26 years.
Height Male: 165 cm (5’ 5”) and above
Female: 160 cm (5’ 3”) and above
Weight Male: 17 < BMI < 26
Female: 17 < BMI < 25
Chest Male: 32” (Minimum)
Visual Acuity Left eye : 6/6 (without spectacles)
Right eye : 6/6 (without spectacles)

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Passes in 06 subjects at the GCE (O/L) Examination in not more than two sittings including a simple (S) passes in Sinhala / Tamil and English language

    or

    Pearson Edexcel International General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) exam or Cambridge International Ordinary Level exams: Passes in 06 subjects including English in not more than two sittings.

    and

    Successful completion of National Certificate in Technology NCT (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering) Three - year part time NCT certificate or any other equivalent qualifications awarded by Government Technical Colleges. and Two years working experience in relevant field.

  • Candidates who are applying with Pearson Edexcel International General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) or Cambridge International Ordinary Level exams without a Simple pass for Sinhala or Tamil language should obtain pass grading for Sinhala or Tamil language within 05 years from the date of enlistment.
  • Holding NVQ level 3 or above or SLQF level 1 or above certificate is considered instead of O/Ls and holding NVQ level 4 or above or SLQF level 2 or above is considered instead of A/Ls only for Direct Entry Candidates enlistment.
