The E&T Wing SLAF Base Ratmalana celebrates its 21st anniversary on 02nd April 2012. The wing has been declaredly opened on 02nd April 1991 under the command of Wing Commander ANCW Jayasekara.

The celebrations began with a working parade in the morning where the present Commanding of the Wing Group Captain Bandula Herath addressed all officers and airmen. There after the celebrations continue with lightning of traditional oil lamp by the Base Commander SLAF Base Ratmalana Air Commodore Sumangala Dias. Many sports activities were conducted and it was conclude with musical session.
