A Delegation from the Indian NDC Visits Air Force Headquarters

A 16-member delegation of 53rd course of the Indian National Defence College (NDC) comprising senior Officers of Tri-Services from Uganda, Afghanistan, Nepal, Egypt and India who are currently on their Strategic Neighborhood Study Tour to Sri Lanka, paid a visit to the Sri Lanka Air Force Headquarters today (10th September 2013). The delegation was headed by Dr. Kheya Bhattacharya, Senior Directing Staff of Indian NDC. The delegation was accompanied by the Indian Defence Advisor in New Delhi, Capt Sumeet Kapoor.
   
On their arrival to AFHQ, they were received by Air Vice Marshal K Yahampath, the Director Training of the Air Force. Subsequently, a presentation was conducted by Group Captain SJS Fernando, the Senior Staff Officer Air Operations on ‘post conflict role and challenges’ of the Sri Lanka Air Force. Thereafter, the delegation had the opportunity to meet the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Air Vice Marshal, KA Gunatilleke who made himself available for an interactive Q&A Session for the benefit of the senior ranking NDC students.

On conclusion, Dr Kheya Bhattacharya presented a symbolic memento to the Chief of Staff. The Chief of Staff reciprocated by presenting a memento to Dr. Kheya Bhattacharya to mark the event. Director Aeronautical Engineering Air Vice Marshal PDJ Kumarasiri, Director Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering Air Vice Marshal RJ Pathirage, Director Logistic Air Vice Marshal KVB Jayampathi, Director Civil Engineering Air Vice Marshal CR Gurusinghe, Director Welfare Air Vice Marshal MLK Perera were also present at the occasion.
