SLAF COMMENCE ESTABLISHING OF COVID-19 TREATMENT CENTRE’S

With the rapid increase in the number of patients who are diagnosed with COVID-19, the Sri Lanka Air Force on the instructions of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana, is currently making arrangements to establish COVID-19 Treatment Centre’s.

The Air Force Directorate of Civil Engineering commenced the construction of a ward complex on 23 March 2021 at the Mulleriyawa Base Hospital. The Ward Complex is planned to have five (05) 100 x 30 foot Wards. These will also be complete with a 20 x 20 foot Wash Room Complex for each ward. The construction is scheduled to be completed by June and handed over to the hospital.

In addition, SLAF Station Batticaloa is also in the process of establishing a COVID-19 treatment Centre. This Centre is planned to be capable of accommodating 300 COVID-19 Patients.
