HANDOVER A HEATED HUMIDIFIED OXYGEN THERAPY UNIT TO RANAVIRU UPAHARA BASE HOSPITAL IN GALGAMUWA

The Sri Lanka Air Force handed over a Heated Humidified Oxygen Therapy Unit (HHOT) to Ranaviru Upahara Base Hospital in Galgamuwa today (28 August 2021). The handing over was done by the Acting Base Commander and Officer Commanding Personnel Services of SLAF Base Anuradhapura, Group Captain N Sapugastenna. The Consultant Physician, Dr. Anuranga Senanayake accepted the vital equipment on behalf of Health Authorities.

The Heated Humidified Oxygen Therapy Unit was manufactured by the General Engineering Wing at SLAF Katunayake together with the electronical design which was done by the Electronics and Telecommunications Wing at SLAF Ratmalana. According to Dr. A  Senanayake, this unit will be deployed at Ranaviru Upahara Base Hospital in Galgamuwa, where they will be used to treat patients with COVID-19.
Further, the event which was held with adherences to COVID preventive health guidelines was attended by few Officers and Other Ranks from the SLAF and staff from the Ranaviru Upahara Base Hospital in Galgamuwa.
