SLAF Ex-Air Force Association is Thirty Years Old

The Ex- Air Force Association of the Sri Lanka Air Force celebrates its‘Pearl Jubilee’ on the19th of  December 2010 at the Rifle Green SLAF Station Colombo.

The celebrations will be combined with the Annual get together where all the past,  members of the SLAF will remember their days of glory with their families.

This association was inaugurated on 23rd August 1980 on  the initiative of the then Commander of the Air Force, late Air Chief Marshal  WDHSW (Harry) Goonetileke. The Sri Lanka Air Force Ex- Servicemen’s Association was established with the object of continuing and enhancing the comradeship created during the Air Force days and looking after the welfare of its members and rendering any assistance required by them.

With the joining of female members in 1995, with an amendment to the constitution, the name of the association was changed to “Sri Lanka Ex- Air Force Association”. Today the membership has soared to 4250 from the original of 60 founder members.
