The Sri Lanka Air Force Women's Wing was formed in 1983.

Lady Officers and Airwomen are enlisted to the Women's Wing within the age limits of 18-22 years. No married female is eligible to be enlisted as a Lady Officer/Airwoman.

Members of the Women's Wing can be employed on duties of combatant or non combatant nature as may be determined by the Commander.
